I have a dream for freedom and for Anarchy, reflecting on two persons on democracy.

As  we reflect on Dr. Martin Luther King's  message by revisiting his celebrated I Have a Dream speech in its entirety delivered on August 28, 1963, part if the speech says "It is obvious today that America has defaulted on this promissory note insofar as her citizens of color are concerned. Instead of honoring this sacred obligation, America has given the Negro people a bad check, a check which has come back marked insufficient funds". 

Another part of the speech continues, "This will be the day when all of God's children will be able to sing with new meaning: My country, 'tis of thee, sweet land of liberty, of thee I sing. Land where my fathers died, land of the pilgrims' pride, from every mountainside, let freedom ring". 
 

 In October 30,2020 ALL NEWS from the White House articles quotes: 

Nearly 400 miles of new border wall system is now complete. Just as important, the Trump Administration is prosecuting and deporting violent criminals, stopping the flow of illegal drugs, and closing the loopholes that help human smugglers while hurting our own citizens, including legal immigrants". Illegal immigration hurts everyone. It empowers criminals, bankrolls human smugglers, and fuels transnational gangs. It costs both legal immigrants and U.S. citizens a shot at the American Dream. It endangers law enforcement officers, makes our communities less stable, and puts law-abiding workers and businesses at a disadvantage.

It is the same narrative, today we celebrate the heroism on Dr. King. He started the fight risking his own life for democracy. January 6, 2020 will be read by generations after our life time when the Supreme leader of White Supremacy led an unsuccessful insurrection to democracy and people of color in the United States of America. 

This hate extends to the undocumented immigrants mostly on the front lines of the dreaded pandemic a lot of which classified as essential workers. A lot of whom are hard working law abiding, tax paying members of the society who cannot even access unemployment or health care in this country. 

As the I have a dream speech mentioned I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character. I have a dream today. Martin Luther King continued. 

I believe that it is the right first direction to tackle an immigration reform in this country to show the insurrects that people of color are here to stay as part of the land of the free, the greatest democracy in the world and they have to accept we cannot be extinct. 

No one can compete with American workers when they’re given a fair and level playing field, which has not happened for decades.

President Donald J. Trump   Mr. Trump refers to American workers as White Americans. when he tighten the H1B visa limits and cited everyone else as foreign labor.. 


From the front line of healthcare doctors, nurses, first responders, essential workers to the technology fields, America's workforce comprises a lot of the so called foreign labor he undermines,  


It is imperative that an overhaul of the immigration system and racial justice reckoning be a prime focus of the incoming administration. 


I will end continuing on Dr. King's speech, " And when this happens, and when we allow freedom ring, when we let it ring from every village and every hamlet, from every state and every city, we will be able to speed up that day when all of God's children, black men and white men, Jews and Gentiles, Protestants and Catholics, will be able to join hands and sing in the words of the old Negro spiritual: Free at last. Free at last. Thank God almighty, we are free at last".

Antidemocractic tactics of deceit, lies and confusion for media domination

Famous authoritarian rulers historically can be remembered as the greatest manipulator of the media, the air waves on tv, newspaper print and now in this century, "the social media" It's surprising to note that common laymen like all of us have to go to so much verification and scrutiny to create a username, handle, page or even an ad on the this platforms if they think it has some kind of relation to politics or political views and opinions. Yet those, in the highest places of power are the exceptions to all of us that they can say or advertise anything they want. Of course this is a debate-table statement however this is based on my own personal views and experience. 

I highlighted, "Antidemocracy in America" as a reference point. This book written in 2019 made a statement on how there could be a unsettling turn toward authoritarian rule. It warn from the social impact of tweets, the breaking news stories using political drama as a strategy. The /fake news/ statements has gotten so much dominance on psychological reverse mentality aiding with the daily shows for everyone to watch.

George Packer of the Atlantic wrote in April 2020, "But a simple intuition had propelled Trump throughout his life: Human beings are weak. They have their illusions, appetites, vanities, fears. They can be cowed, corrupted, or crushed. A government is composed of human beings. This was the flaw in the brilliant design of the Framers, and Trump learned how to exploit it. The wreckage began to pile up. He needed only a few years to warp his administration into a tool for his own benefit. If he’s given a few more years, the damage to American democracy will be irreversible.

In page 136 of this book "How We Got Here" it talks on the roots of our current criminal justice system in the 1960's. The debates and need for legislation already started then. Sad to say during the Nixon presidency the US Federal government withdrew resources from the cities where these debates started. It expanded support for law enforcement and design a more punitive criminal justice system.  Hence, in the on-going street protest a big part of the battle cry is start the change way down from the local governments.

The calls for overall of the criminal justice system was fortified by the Black Lives Matter movement and books like The New Jim Crow. On the book's page 140, it writes, "President Trump's repeated calls for "law and order" represent a clear turn backward to the rhetoric used by Richard Nixon in 1968". The last few days we know what law and order means "Domination"  

Certain TV  networks that promoted Trump and is still is; the primary voters who elevated him; the party and politicians who eventually surrendered and glorified him, the so-called intellectuals who argued for him, and the donors who, however grudgingly, wrote checks to him—all of them knew, by the time they made their decisions, that Trump lied all the time, about everything. They knew that Trump was ignorant, and coarse, and boastful, and cruel.

After all it is a show and the higher the ratings are means, the road to re-election. There are so many ways we can act and fight for the cause of equality. One big part  is to continue correcting the propaganda,

 Holiday Messages had just been released on November 20, 2017 by publishers, Create space Independent Publishing  It is memorable book highlighted by  former First Lady Michelle Obama, and concluding with the moving New Year's Eve address entitled "Privilege of My Life". This book is comprised of 9 Thanksgiving addresses, 9 Christmas addresses.  From 2008-2016 it records the different holiday addresses the Obama's had in literary collection. Straddling The Border
Straddling-the-border-immigration-policy-and-the-ins is a book I took out from the bookshelf this Labor Day Weekend amidst the burning heat wave in San Francisco, CA.
I briefly remember browsing through the pages of this book while Saddam Hussein and Osama Bin Laden were still part of the constant news media syndication's. It was also the time as stated in the book, Microsoft's founder, Bill Gates testified to the US Congress on his distinct need for foreign workers on the annual limits on the H-1B visa workers program.
Over time, the cap on this visa has gone lower yet technology became more and more a part of our daily lives. Hence, a big chunk of the Silicon Valley workforce depended on highly skilled workers from overseas. Lately, if you have been current on events, the Medical healthcare sector issued their own responses on the further cut on H1-B visas for the medical professions. MD's (Medical Doctors) as well as RN's (Registered Nurses) also pools a lot from immigrant workers specialized on this field. From cancer to immunologic diseases that plague the American Healthcare, one would think the tables would have be opposite by increasing more visas available yet it's not,
Three weeks ago, major news networks in California reported a Nurse Latina worker living in the US for 2 decades was deported back to her native country living her children on their own. Senator Dianne Feinstein (D) of California as I've mentioned in the previous tried to intercede but her efforts were only good for 24 hours. The remedy would be a special law created for this person which will be almost impossible considering even if approve by Congress would need the signature of the current President. 
Quoting from the book, " The 1998 Gallup Poll data suggest that a majority of Americans believe that most immigrants are undocumented and of Mexican decent. It is reasonable to assume that this belief is attributable in large part to the portrayals of immigration issues, particularly in the border states of the Southwest. While there are legitimate immigration concerns, exaggerated, misguided, and inflated accounts of immigrant issues by politicians perpetuate pejorative social stereotypes".  
One of the past campaign slogans I remember was to "bring back the jobs to America" to stop the jobs being outsourced. During that time the news covered on Call Centers booming in third world countries for customer service calls. I for one supported the slogan due to my own experiences trying to call a real person in customer service only to find someone in overseas which I didn't have an issue except that it was too hard to regretfully repeat and explain the nature of my call/issue and nonetheless can barely understand what the person on the other line was trying to communicate to me.
Understanding more the INA or the Immigration and National Act of 1996 in the book gives an overview how the change on the Immigration process change then. Yet it also gives an on overview on how this act is so far old and needs revisions and find tuning. It is hard to predict whether the statement on the 1998 Gallup Poll exaggerated by politicians was a precedent to the Trump campaign in the 2016 elections or simply President Trump stereotype Mexicans or if he indeed truly thinks it would be economically beneficial in building the wall between the United States and Mexico.
As of this writing, millions of the dreamers of DACA are rallying while awaiting their fate from the President. It's been days Mr. Trump has waited for a decision whether to extend or leave DACA alone or abolish it. Some say, the fact that there is a waiting time may be a good sign as he may be deeply contemplating on the outcome right after hurricane "Harvey" in Texas where a big chunk of the dreamers live. Unfortunately, I had to revised this last statement due to the announcement that President Trump just decided to end DACA with a 6 month delay.on a news blast by Politico.com
For now, let us remember what the United States was founded on, and as a nation of immigrants contributing to it's economy and it's greatness. God Bless the United States of America.
